Summary:
Monoxivent partnered with Crawford Company to design and install a custom source capture exhaust system for an international manufacturer. The challenge, to provide a system that would exhaust engines generating extreme heat, while accommodating the building layout and overhead cranes. The solution to this challenge, (2) Monoxivent PAC-32 (32′ long) double pivoting articulated cranes with outriggers.
For this project the PAC-32 incorporates 18″ diameter stainless steel rigid duct on the arm sections and Series-7120 1200 degree F exhausting flex hose at the pivoting joints. Crawford Company custom fabricated the drops on the end of each PAC to accommodate the vehicles the system connects to.
MHA-150-HD heavy duty industrial blowers were used with each PAC, set up to move 6000 CFM @ 2.5″ SP. The fans were equipped with high temperature paint, heat shields, shaft coolers, bolted access doors, drain connections, weather covers, extended lube lines and vibration isolators. CBS-DS fan start control boxes were used with built-in disconnect switches.
The system was designed, from concept to completion, by Monoxivent/Crawford Co.
